One of my fondest childhood memories

Going to Cohokia Mounds is one of my fondest memories as a child, and I have brought my own children back several times to learn about the Native American way of life. The museum is full of interesting artifacts and information. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. The grounds are breathtaking.

Nice outdoor day...

Cahokia Mounds is a fun way to spend a beautiful day outdoors...the entire area is seeped in local history. Part of the fun is actually climbing the mounds - a great way to get some exercise and let the kids run around. There is also a nice museum/indoor area. Many high schools visit here yearly to expose their students; unfortunately few local schools take the time to take advantage of this option. Definitely worth a visit...

Cahokia Mounds is a very neat place to visit. You can climb to the top of the manmade mounds that have been there for a long time or you can go to the museum and see how people who inhabited the village lived. There is also a movie you can see about the civilization and the construction of the mounds. It is very close to St. Louis and a great place to take your kids.
